Iraq University College IUC is a private university founded in Basra Province, Iraq on 25/5/2005, in accordance with the law No. 13 of 1996 amended by the law No. 57 article No.5 of 2002. The university has signed scientific memorandums of understanding with many international and national universities and governmental ministries and organisations such as University of Portsmouth in the UK, Milano University in Italy, Jaihan University College in Irbil (pending signature) and Ministry of Communication The University is considered as a private Scientific and Cultural Institution of public benefit. The university is a member of The National Recognition Information Centre for the UK (NARIC). Objectives:- The university aims to accomplish many objectives within its strategy of this project; these objectives are:- 1- Prepare a decent and qualified engineer with superior objectives. Unlike many academic entities which provide the candidate with scientific subjects without building his personality, we strongly believe in providing the students with scientific and academic subjects and effective factors to influence his personality with ethical principles and values. The university adds the “General Knowledge ” curricula to provide the students with ethical values and principles. 2- The University aims to promote the scientific and cultural level of our new Iraq by graduating an engineer qualified with scientific knowledge and practical experience and capable to perform engineering works and research within his specialty. 3- The University aims to link students with international universities to be familiar with the latest scientific researches in all scientific fields by opening the Internet Center at the university. 4- The University aims to teach students the accredited curricula of International universities to be in compliance with the advanced status, developments and their academic policies.
